Akhanda Meditate for Unity update 090717

24 July 2017 – 30 July 2017

Only three weeks to go before Akhanda Meditation for Unity begins. Thank you for joining hands and participating

The meditation for unity calendar is attached and it is filling up very nicely. We have covered about 75% of the 7days. The intention was to keep the period between 12am-4am free, but friends from Australia have volunteered their time and have opened up, a possible 24x7 continuous practice.

Like a relay event, the meditation practice will carry the baton of a common intention from one meditator/group of meditators to another. At present we have over 50 people participating and a number of yoga/meditation groups volunteering their wonderful time for unity. The organisations have a group of people participating at the same time so if you wish to also join them, please let me know and I will let you know the times and locations of their events.

The calendar contains initials of the participant/s names inserted into the appropriate time slot. If you do not recognise your initials in the times allotted in the calendar or we have got it wrong, please let us know.

Please forward this on to anyone who may be interested in participating. If you find you cannot do the slot you have volunteered for, please let me know (rajesh.rai@malvernbhavan.com) so it can be filled. I will be in reserve!

I am working out whether I should make Poulstone Court Retreat Centre available for anyone who wishes to spend the Saturday (29th July) meditating with others at the centre. If there are enough people maybe, whoever wants to, can do this practice in the quiet and meditative charm of Poulstone. Please let me know if you have any views on this.

Also, I think a face book group chat should be set up. Again, your views on this (and any volunteers who can do this) will be hugely appreciated. …. Actually, and on this point, I had an interesting chat yesterday about connectivity. We are now witnessing the birth and advancement of the cyber connection age, where the internet will connect us all. Let's hope this Akhanda practice continually reminds us of the subtle connection between us all and the age of the internet does not make us forget about this wonderful connection

Love to you all and in Unity, Rajesh.
